El Comité de Ética Docente Asistencial (CEDA) de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Chile es un órgano colegiado de deliberación, con carácter consultivo e interdisciplinar, creado para el análisis y asesoramiento sobre los dilemas de carácter ético que surjan en el ámbito docente y asistencial. Su fin último es contribuir a la humanización del ejercicio profesional, promover la mejora de la calidad asistencial y fomentar las buenas prácticas en el ejercicio de la docencia universitaria, así como mediar en situaciones de conflictos en estos ámbitos.
La existencia del Comité de Ética de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Chile (FOUCh) se fundamenta en la necesidad de evaluación ética de la Investigación en Ciencias Odontológicas en las que se involucra el manejo de células y patógenos, de animales de experimentación y la participación de personas, considerando la legislación nacional y los documentos internacionales sobre ética de la investigación.
La evaluación, de carácter ético-científico, constituye un mecanismo destinado a la realización de investigaciones odontológicas básicas en laboratorio y con animales, acorde con los principios éticos de bioseguridad y para cautelar la protección de los derechos de las personas que participan en investigaciones en el campo odontológico, como también a estimular el respeto a los principios éticos de la investigación en este campo. Los derechos de las personas corresponden a aquellos que han sido reconocidos en el derecho nacional e internacional.
Translation - English The Teaching and Healthcare Ethics Committee from the College of Dentistry of the University of Chile is a collegiate deliberating body, consultative and interdisciplinary, created for the analysis and assessment of ethical issues that may arise in the teaching and healthcare areas. Its goal is to contribute to the humanization of professional practice, to promote the improvement of healthcare quality and to encourage good university teaching practices, as well as mediating conflicts.
The existence of the Ethics Committee at the University of Chile College of Dentistry is based on the need for an ethical assessment of the Odontological Science research involving the handling of animals cells and pathogens as well as the participation of people, considering national legislation and the international documents about ethical research.
The ethical-scientific assessment constitutes a mechanism set aside for basic dental research in the lab and with animals, according to the ethical principles of biosecurity and to protect the rights of the human beings participating in this kind of research as well as promoting respect for the ethical principles in this field. Human rights are those acknowleged under national and international laws.
