Source text - Spanish La resolución de una imagen indica cuánto detalle puede observarse en esta. El término es comúnmente utilizado en relación a imágenes de fotografía digital, pero también se utiliza para describir cuán nítida (como antónimo de granular) es una imagen de fotografía convencional (o fotografía química). Tener mayor resolución se traduce en obtener una imagen con más detalle o calidad visual.
Para las imágenes digitales almacenadas como mapa de bits, la convención es describir la resolución de la imagen con dos números enteros, donde el primero es la cantidad de columnas de píxeles (cuántos píxeles tiene la imagen a lo ancho) y el segundo es la cantidad de filas de píxeles (cuántos píxeles tiene la imagen a lo alto).
Es bueno señalar que si la imagen aparece como granular se le da el nombre de pixelada o pixelosa.
La convención que le sigue en popularidad es describir el número total de píxeles en la imagen (usualmente expresado como el múltiplo correspondiente a millón, mega-), que puede ser calculado multiplicando la cantidad de columnas de píxeles en una imagen por la cantidad de filas. A continuación se presenta una ilustración sobre cómo se vería la misma imagen en diferentes resoluciones.
Para saber cuál es la resolución de una cámara digital debemos conocer los píxeles de ancho x alto a los que es capaz de obtener una imagen. Así una cámara capaz de obtener una imagen de 1600 x 1200 píxeles tiene una resolución de 1600x1200=1.920.000 píxeles, es decir 1,92 megapíxeles.
Además, hay que considerar la resolución de impresión, es decir, los puntos por pulgada (ppp) a los que se puede imprimir una imagen digital de calidad. A partir de 200 ppp podemos decir que la resolución de impresión es buena, y si queremos asegurarnos debemos alcanzar los 300 ppp porque muchas veces la óptica de la cámara, la limpieza del objetivo o el procesador de imágenes de la cámara digital disminuyen la calidad.
Translation - English The resolution of an image indicates how much detail can be observed in it. The term is commonly used in relation to digital photography, but it is also used to describe how clear (as opposed to how granular) an image of conventional photography (or chemical photography) is. Greater resolution results in having an image with more detail or higher visual quality.
For digital images stored as bitmaps, the convention is to describe the resolution of the image with two whole numbers, where first it is the number of columns of pixels (how many pixels wide is the image) and the second is the number of rows of pixels (how many pixels high is the image).
It is worth noting that if the image appears grainy, the image is considered pixelated.
The convention that follows in popularity is to describe the total number of pixels in the image (usually expressed in multiple of millions, mega-), that can be calculated by multiplying the number of columns in an image by the number of rows. Next, an illustration shows how the same image would be seen in different resolutions.
To know the resolution of a digital camera, we must know the pixels wide x high which it is able to capture an image. Thus, a camera which is able to capture an image of 1600 x 1200 pixels has a resolution of 1600x1200=1,920,000 pixels, that is 1.92 megapixels.
In addition, it's necessary to consider the printing resolution, that is to say, dots per inch (dpi) to which a quality digital image can be printed. From 200 dpi, we can say that the printing resolution is good, and if we want to make sure we must reach the 300 dpi because often the optics of the camera, the cleaning of the objective or the image processor of the digital camera diminish the quality.

Fue reemplazado por un diseño desarrollado por el artista Phil Bissell durante la primera temporada, que representaba un minuteman con un balón de fútbol americano y un atuendo propio de este deporte. El dueño inicial de los Patriots, William Sullivan, adoptó el nombre de "Pat Patriot" para el logo.
