2. Test
a. Check operation of the charge indicator LED. Green = Charging.
b. After 15 minutes of constant connection to the mains power supply, check operation of the luminaire in emergency mode by simulating failure of the unswitched power supply.
i. If the luminaire switches to emergency mode, proceed to step 3
ii. If the luminaire does not switch to emergency mode, check the following:
1. Supply wires are routed to the correct terminals as per the product instructions
2. Both battery terminals are connected (red wire to +, black wire to -)
3. LED Status Indicator is connected to control unit
3. Document
a. Mark the date of commissioning on the battery label.
b. Fill in the test record card.
c. Ensure all documentation is made available to the user and/or maintenance engineer.
The unswitched mains supply to this luminaire should be derived from an uninterrupted circuit. Switches connected to this supply should be either located in a position inaccessible to unauthorised persons or be of a tamper proof type.
