Source text - English The 2006 EU Economy Review discusses a series of simulations to capture the "shocks" that accompanied (and were partly triggered by) the creation of the euro area:

– An easing of credit constraints for households boosts the demand for owner-occupied housing, which further fuels the housing boom. Housing investment is strongly affected initially as house prices inflate. Real interest rates fall further which sustains the housing boom until it overshoots. Excess supply then triggers a downturn in housing investment.
– Several countries entered the euro area with an overvalued exchange rate – Germany being the most prominent case. The associated sustained increase in the terms of trade and real interest rates is found to have a strong initial adverse effect on housing investment and GDP growth and produces disinflation. The current account first turns into deficit, but this is subsequently reversed as competitiveness is restored. Economic growth then also picks up.
– Some countries experienced a favourable shock to total factor productivity (TFP) in the tradeable sector (Ireland). This initially boosts inflation owing to the Balassa-Samuelson effect: wages accelerate in the tradeable sector and this subsequently spills over to wages and prices in the non-tradeable sector. The real interest rate falls and housing demand picks up strongly. The current account is little affected as the strong demand for non-tradeable produces only small import leakages.

If you’re using turntables, you can end a song by turning off the power on the turntable for a cool way to break up your sets. As the outgoing song slows to a halt, you should have an announcement, a promotion, or another hot song cued up ready to start. This will get everyone’s attention, because they’ll think you screwed up. But you’ll be ready to recover and people will think that’s intensely cool. You can now do this on many CD players and with some digital DJ systems.
The Brake
On most turntables, hitting the stop button while a song is playing will stop a song very abruptly, resulting in a sound that kind of sounds like slamming on the brakes in a car and the wheels screeching briefly. Again, you should have another hot song cued up ready to start immediately. Some newer CD players and some digital DJ systems offer this effect.
Backspins
You’ll wait for an eight count in a break. On the end of the eight count, grab the record and spin the record backwards quickly. Before the record has a chance to stop and start forward again, you can let the new song rip right on the first downbeat and immediately fade out the old song. Or, when you get really good, you’ll eventually be able to backspin directly to the beginning of the phrase or eight count that you just played! Many DJs will use tape or markers to physically mark the inner label of their records with the beginning of their favorite backspin segments. Like power downs, you can now perform backspins on some CD players and with some digital DJ systems.

A post-graduate of Translation at University of Surrey with strong communication and organisational skills. I have been specialised in English to Greek business/financial and scientific/technical translation, as well as Portuguese to English translation, obtaining my Masters diploma with distinction. I also speak at a very competent level French (DALF C1) and Spanish (DELE B2).
My main career interests are in specialised translation (working either as a freelance agent or in-house translator), as well as in project co-ordination and management. Moreover, teaching and being involved in formal or non-formal educational initiatives occupy a great part of my professional life.
I am very interested also in European mobility programmes and international exchange opportunities since the last six years I have actively involved myself into several European initiatives and I consider it the best option to keep practicing my foreign language skills.
I am pursuing a permanent and dynamic role in translation industry and generally in a multicultural working environment where fusion of languages, opinions and skills occurs on a daily basis.
