Bio
I specialize in French-English and English-French general and cultural materials. My other languages are Bantu:Kikongo and Lingala.

I have a Ph.D. in English and Applied Linguistics, a specialization in English as a Second Language, and two Master's Degrees in applied linguistics. I was trained in the Grammar-Translation and Direct Methods of Teaching English from French in high school, and I have been a teacher of English as a second language in high school and college. I have also taught the French language. Now I teach English to native speakers in college. I have fluently translated from and into English, French, Kikongo and Lingala. My 1991 doctoral dissertation on "The Pragmatics of Palavering in Kikongo" is based on three audio-tapes with debates or palavers in Kikongo, which I translated into English and offered morphological segmentations before discussing their ethnographic and linguistic implications. My MA thesis was on "A Contrastive Study of Tense and Aspect in English and Kikongo." I also wrote my license thesis on Errors Made by Zairean Students in English. I have done interpretation since 1974, when I worked for the Conference of African Accounting Council in Kinshasa. Today, I serve as a freelance InterpreTalk translator for Language Associates. I interpret on the phone. I have also brilliantly translated into written French "Lifting the Veil," a Music Professor's presentation at the Conservatoire de Musique de Paris. My rich background in French comes from my education at elementary, high school and college (for several courses)in a country that uses French as an official language. My charges are US 6 Cents per word and 60 dollars per hour for interpretation.
