On a typical day you may find me speed solving a Rubik's cube, reading Grisham's novels or hanging out with my fellow Interpreters in court rooms, police stations and other public venues around the UK. I am pretty sure I was born with a dictionary in my hand and a passion for crossing language barriers. Educated in Poland, before the Berlin Wall came crumbling down, I learned Russian at schoool and then discovered English was much easier, travelled extensively, lived in Madrid for a year, learned a local accent (Spanish Castellano), lived in Switzerland for three years, added another language under my belt (French), moved back to Poland, graduated from University of Lodz, went on to teach English to students of a High School and a Teacher's Training College, knew all the coursebooks by heart, got restless, and left for the United Kingdom. Now I live in Guildford, Surrey, meeting fantastic people every day and working exclusively with the best clients !!! I speak French and Spanish, too, but am not qualified to do jobs in these languages though it helps whilst travelling and exploring fruit/vegetable markets around the world and making friends with local people.

I am a Registered Interpreter (NRPSI), and a professional Translator which means am qualified to interpret/translate from English into Polish, and from Polish into English, with a proven record of more than 3000 hrs of face-to-face interpreting (court /police /probation/ local government/ legal/medical/private clients). I hold MA in English, University of Lodz, Poland. I was trained to nationally recognised standards at University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, and awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Translation with Interpreting, special interest - Public Service Interpreting (2010). I was also assessed by IoL Educational Trust and successfully completed the Metropolitan Police Test with 4 distinctions.

I am currently preparing to take ILEC (International Legal English Certificate) Cambridge exam - coming up in September 2014 - with a deep conviction all this sweat will broaden my knowledge of legal environment. Do keep your fingers crossed for me ! And also doing an online course in Forensic Linguistics...
