I am a Mexican-born translator, writer and journalist living uninterruptedly in Spain since 1999. I have been translating from English into Latin-American Spanish for 35 years and into European Spanish for the past 14 years.

After some years in the literary branch of the profession, and while simultaneously working as a science journalist (first in Mexican newspapers and radio, presently in Spanish newspapers and radio, most notably the weekly science page of the Basque newspaper El Correo which I have been writing for six years) I turned to the technical branch. For almost 20 years I have specialized in the translation of materials dealing with law, marketing, telecommunications, automotive, mobile telephony, computing (hardware and software), science and technology, and website content material, as well as copywriting marketing materials. I have a profound knowledge of word- and graphic-processing tools, as well as TM software. I use cloud computing and cloud storage when needed to expedite the transfer and revision of materials and I'm up to date in scientific terminology.

I have worked with top agencies in the market and my performance is guaranteed both in terms of quality of the work (understanding of source material, writing in correct Spanish, with impeccable spelling and grammar) and quality service (delivering on time, in the agreed layouts and file formats and with clear notes in case of doubts, discrepancies or possible conflicting interpretations of the source material).

My main source of translation work does not come from Proz, but rather from agencies with which I have a long-standing excellent business and personal relationship, but I'm in the process of expanding my client pool.

My confidentiality record is also perfect. One of the reasons you will not find a "sample translation" from me is precisely my commitment to confidentiality, so I prefer to do a short sample translation. Over the years, I have worked with sensitive topics from high-profile clients such as Sun Microsystems, Microsoft (professional certification programs), LG electronics and many others in several fields, and I consider my non-disclosure commitment never to expire.
