Translation - English Nestled in the hills, it was a sumptuous residence overlooking the Ramatuelle Gulf. Today, Santa Monica villa is a pile of rubble, knocked down to the last stone by an excavator. A villa of 994 square meters of living space and a 800-square-meter annex. Here is the drawing room: the workers who are demolishing can’t believe it.
(Soumara Sambe, worksite director) “From the stairway practically to the entryway, it’s marble on the floor. There was a theater room, a gaming room. Evidently there was a room… a salon and also a weight room. So it’s really huge, y’know!”

Experience
Years of experience: 22. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2014.
I am a French>English translator and interpreter living in Omaha NE. While my formal education was completed here in the United States and in Paris, France, I have spent time in Burkina Faso West Africa and now deal almost exclusively with west African francophones locally.
My specialties are courtroom and law enforcement interpretation, education interests, religion, immigration and refugee-related issues and general interest subjects. As an immigration (EOIR) interpreter, I have a good amount of knowledge about Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ivory Coast / Côte d'Ivoire. Over the past several years I have interpreted for various asylum cases, during their immigration interviews, between clients and attorneys, and before immigration judges.
In addition to interpretation, I translate personal documents of all kinds - birth, death and marriage certificates, certificates of health, private letters, police records, school records, and so forth. Frequently I am assigned to translate newspaper articles and short papers as well as revise and edit F>E documents. As acontract translator for SCOLA www.scola.org, I produce a weekly lesson consisting of a translation, questions over the item, and a vocabulary relative to the lesson.
An enthusiastic supporter of networking and professional development, I am a member of the ATA www.atanet.org, the Omaha Alliance Française http://www.afomaha.org/ and the National Language Service Corps http://www.nlscorps.org/. In addition, I am the new President of the Nebraska Association for Translators and Interpreters in Omaha NE. Please visit our site at www.natihq.org for more information. I am also presently affiliating more closely with Catholic Charities and Lutheran Family Services as I become more involved with refugee/immigration work.
