Elonkieli is a
one-person language services company with a focus on high-quality
language services, sustainability, and human rights.
 
The
services provided include translation, interpreting, proofreading,
subtitles, audio description, and audio description teaching.
 
My
working languages are English, Spanish, and French, and my mother
tongue is Finnish. I specialise in topics related to the environment,
sustainability, health, politics, psychology, and public services. I
also think one of the best things about translation and interpreting is
that I always get to learn new things on a variety of topics that might
not be listed here!
 
The name “Elonkieli” means “language of
life”. It has been inspired by the Finnish word "elonkirjo", which is a
beautiful translation for the term biodiversity. The word carries with
it echoes of colourfulness and diversity of life in all its forms.
