PROFILE


I am a Customer Service Engineer, working in graphic arts/ Printing industry, for a prepress industry leader, with a lot of insight in the high technology. I have a
degree in electrical, electronic engineering and have worked throughout the years in different capacities, in the high tech industry. I translated many manuals and technical documentations from and to English,from and to Portuguese, Brazilian, French, Spanish and Italian. Right now I am willing to accept translations two ways, in any direction you looked at the language pairs: Portuguese, Brazilian, English, French and Spanish.
Although I know, Dutch, German and Italian I am not interested to pursue any work in those areas at the moment. I translated a novel ( Romance of the Desert) from Brazilian Portuguese, a couple of years ago into English.
The same book was published in Spain last year. I am a writer and also a novelist.



Areas of expertise, Experience or Skills I have worked in Europe for Intergraph Corporation from 1990 until 1994,
based out of Amesterdam, from where I traveled to all the countries of EC and some of Eastern block countries. Out of my office in Hoofdorp, in the Netherlands I had to deal and constantly speak and translate documents in all the major European languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian,German etc), daily to keep the business going.
I do web design, desktop work with the aid of modern technology tools such as ( Adobe photoshop, Quarkxpress, Beyond Press, Pagemaker, Microsoft Frontend 2000, Word 2000, Harlequin Rip, Delta Rip, CAI rip, Adobe Rip, on Unix, Linux and Windows NT platforms). I am in a sort of way, in publishing industry, I have done work in the past for Komori Corporation and still do
some work for Heidelberg Company out of Kiel Germany. I write novels and translate them into other languages. I am also a novelist. I have traveled very extensively, throughout the world and I am very aware of the coloquialism in the languages. I work in association with professional translators to give weight to my work and I have a way to crosscheck the accuracy of the languages that I deal with. To me it is fun! It is an art, to translate from one language, to another, back and forth.
