I am PhD student at the University of Birmingham, and my research combines Shakespeare's works and philosphy.
I am a Dane, and have lived in Denmark for the larger part of my life. I have studied and spoken English since age 12. A little over a year ago I moved to England to pursue an academic career in Shakespeare scholarship.
Before coming to England, I completed a postgraduate degree in English and religion of the University of Copenhagen, studying among other subjects translation. I have always found the brainwork, challenges, and triumphs of translation work fascinating, as no two languages ever communicate exactly the same throughts, even when their words may appear similar.
Apart from Shakespeare, written as well as performed, I enjoy reading and do so voraciously, writing, which I do more tentatively, duely cowed by what Bloom termed "anxiety of influence", and paiting, a rather messy habit all told.
