Source text - English The motor vehicle, or automobile as it is often called, consists of four main parts or groups of parts. These parts are the engine, the transmission, the body, and the electrical equipment.
The engine produces the power to make the vehicle move. It is usually of the internal combustión type, so called because the fuel is burned inside the cylinders. This burning, or combustion, produces a force that is capable of causing a shaft, called a crankshaft, to turn. This turning motion is then transferred to the driving road wheels, so causing the vehicle to move in the required direction. Other types of engine are sometimes used for this purpose.

These are the thrust or motion through the air, which must overcome the resistance of the air (this resistance is called drag) and the lift, which must overcome the weight of the airplane or gravity.
An airplane produces thrust by means of its jets or propelleres, depending upon the kind of engine which is fitted. The wings are designed with a curved upper surface to deflect the airstream upwards. This means that there is a slight decrease in pressure over the upper wing surface and therefore a tendency for the wing to rise into the área of small pressure.

Source text - English One of the most common forms of engineering component is perhaps the bolt or screw. This item is used for fastening together two or more parts of a larger unit or machine which may need to be quickly dismantled or re-assembled. The body of the bolt is called the shaft, one end of which has a head while the other is screw-threaded to accommodate a nut.
A bolt is often fitted with a round washer which forms a kind of cushion between the underside of the nut and the face of the work-piece. Bolts for general use are made of mild steel, but for special work they may be made of almost any dense material. For extra security a second nut is often fitted to a bolt and this is known a lock-nut.

These component parts are electrically charged and are called "ions". The two minus signs on the SO4= ion indicate that it carries two more than its normal number of electrons. The plus sign on each hydrogen ion indicates that it carries one less than its normal number of electrons, the plus and minus signs being used in accordance with the definition of positive and negative charges. The minus charges are equal to the positive charges, so that the liquid as a whole is not electrically charged.

Source text - English A computer has four basic components: input, processor, memory and output. The processor has two parts: the control unit which directs and contols the signals and commands inside the processor, and the arithmetic-logical unit which does the five arithmetic operations and the three decision making operations.
In a computer, the internal memory or primary memory refers to the storage locations inside the computer, whereas secondary memory refers to the storage embodied in the peripherials. There are three types of internal memory: core, as in the mainframes; semiconductor or chip, as in microcomputers; and bubble memory. Secondary memory, on the other hand, may be classified as either sequential (tape) or direct-access (disk).
The input devices, wether they are car readers, tape drives, disk drives or terminals, enter the information into the computer. After the processor has operated on it, the output devices display the results of the computations on a printer or a terminal, or store them on tape or disk.
