Originally from the state of Colorado in the United States, I have lived, studied and worked in Mexico City since 2010. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, Film and Dance with a Film Emphasis and a Minor in Spanish (Summa Cum Laude) from Humboldt State University in Arcata California, as well as a Master of Arts in International Relations from Alliant International University at its Mexico City campus.
While living in Mexico, I have successfully developed skills in text translation and editing by combining my exceptional English writing abilities with a passion for Spanish language and Hispanic and Latin American culture. I have served as the in-house English Editor and Translator for American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico for nearly two years, applying my language skills to texts in the areas of business, economics, international relations, communications and marketing. In addition, I have worked on projects for the language center Con Acento Latino, including translations of case studies and the national website for Universidad Panamericana’s IPADE Business School. Independently, I have translated texts for the documentary film organization and festival, Ambulante, as well for documentary filmmaker Aurelie Semichon, including the subtitling of her recent work about experimental music Murmurs of Julio Estrada.
