Source text - Spanish En cierta ocasión, conversando con Graziella Pogolotti, le confesé que mi mayor ambición como escritor era grabar un disco. [...] Esto es verdad, y también es mentira. Aunque mi vocación de músico no ha sido satisfecha, guardo un sentimiento particular hacia ese arte, hasta el punto de que no concibo mi prosa sin un resguardo o trasfondo musical. Precisando las cosas, mi mayor ambición es que mis cuentos, y también mis novelas, suenen como ciertas canciones, y puedan ser leídas y gustadas con la misma fruición con que el melómano se sienta a disfrutar la música. Translation - German Als ich mich einmal mit Graziella Pogolotti unterhielt, gestand ich ihr, dass es mein größter Ehrgeiz als Schriftsteller war, eine Platte aufzunehmen. [...] Das ist die Wahrheit und zugleich gelogen. Nun hat sich zwar meine Berufung zum Musiker nicht erfüllt, aber ich bleibe dieser Kunst ganz besonders zugetan. Und das geht so weit, dass ich meine Prosatexte immer im Schutz oder vor dem Hintergrund von Musik schreibe. Genauer gesagt, ist es mein größter Ehrgeiz, meine Erzählungen, und auch meine Romane, wie bestimmte Songs klingen zu lassen, damit man sie mit der gleichen Hingabe lesen kann, mit der sich ein Musikliebhaber in den Musikgenuss vertieft.
