No había ventanas.

Todavía no había desayunado.
¨Liza, ¿estás lista?¨ Mi maestra me preguntó mientras guardaba mi sándwich.

Yana me preguntó.

Translation - English The Drawing that Came True
It was 3:45 P.M. I couldn't wait for my mother to come to pick me up at school. I was playing a Times Bingo game with the English teacher. I liked playing these games instead of writing and doing math because I could win tickets and get a prize. Suddenly, someone cried loudly in the hallway. It was Harry, Jan's brother. I did not pay so much attention to him, however the teacher stopped the game and walked outside the door. Harry was sitting on a chair crying. The teacher was calming him down, and telling him to breath deeply. Jan was protecting her brother Harry with her back, looking amused. I wondered why?
I went back into the classroom again because I could not handle this. Harry cried and always found a way to get what he wanted. The English teacher told me to count the tickets that both Jan and I had gotten from her. Jan always got more tickets than I, and she did whatever she could in order to get the most. I couldn't say anything because Jan, her brother and I were the only students in this “home school,” and I wanted to keep them as my friends.
"Liz, let's go, you have an appointment with the dentist”, said my mother as she walked into the classroom, “and we are late,” she continued.
My school was inside a house of prayer. This was a place where young Jewish men studied the Bible together with their teacher or Rabbi. Each of these men had his own private room where they slept and got ready to learn the whole day. The hallway was often busy with the young men taking breaks from their learning.
Jan and I were in one room reserved especiallly for us, while Harry was in the other room next door. Both classrooms had a brown carpet, two desks and a white board. There were no windows. I never talked to the young men living in the other rooms, but Jan liked to talk to Maurice who was always singing Jewish prayer songs.
"Come Liz, let's go," My mother said again. As soon as I finished taping the orange stickers to the drawing on the wall, I ran behind my mother.

Translation - English God Open Doors
How many times we leave the house, walking out of the door and driving a mile or two! And just at this moment, we realize that we forgot to do something such as turning off the oven. Then, we think and worry because it could be really dangerous. What would we do? How could we get back now that we're so far away? But we need to act and we can't waste time. This is important and it's a matter of safety. So we break all the rules and take the way back. Just half way of your trip back, your relative calls you and says that he arrived from a long trip and is in your building. He needs to rest for a few hours in your house and is asking you for permission. How would you feel about this phone call? Divine, right?
When we make a mistake in our lives, and we turned back in order to fix it, God's hands appear from underneath the world to help us. God is the Place of the world that makes everything happen. But we have to do our part, first. This is a message of life and is the same that happened to Jacob, our third father. After he was blessed by his father Isaac, and Esav his brother wanted to kill him, Jacob escaped. In midway, Jacob realized that he passed by the holy place where his father prayed.. So he turned back and at this moment, God brought this holy place to him and Jacob prayed there. If he had not turned back to fix his mistake, God would not have helped him like He just did.
Jacob was a simple man who settled in his tent and learned Torah. He did this job for 63 years! Everything was given to him and he did not have to worry, just learn. The same routine for 63 years! Nowadays, a person works as a teacher or as a secretary for 20 years, and he or she either resigns or wants to move to another career. If Jacob had continued learning Torah for more than 63 years, he would have done it.
However, God altered his tranquil emotional state when his mother Rebecca told him to dress up as Esav and go to his father Isaac to get the blessing. How much change can a blessing bring to a person? A lot. Jacob, dressed up as Esav, deceived Isaac and at the end, this one gave the blessing to the former. The after effects of the blessing do not end here. Esav wanted to kill Jacob for stealing his blessing. But Esav had already sold his right of the first born to Jacob. Jacob fleed his parents' home in the Holy Land and settled in his mother's birth town, in Haran.
63 years of learning Torah ended. From there on, God changed the circumstances so that Jacob will have a life: work, family, the 12 tribes of Israel. Indeed it was not an easy task. Who says moving on with one's life is easy? If Jacob had lived today, he would have been so emotionally disturbed for having a brother who wanted to kill him. Perhaps he would have needed a psychiatrist to be able to cope. Perhaps he would have succeeded. What we are certain about is that God moves everybody into different 'emotional' situations.
It was not easy for Jacob, but inside of him he had the faith that helped him overcome his emotions. Fleeing from a furious brother was a tragedy for Jacob. But tragedy does not last for a hundred years, and Jacob moved on and came out of his mother's birth place Haran with four wives and twelve tribes. This is a lesson of life that we can't forget. A lesson that starts by being passive: learning, sitting, not worrying, and continues with action: deceive, fear, marriage, and children.
