I am pleased to offer you my services as a translation specialist. I am a native Spanish speaker who after graduating from high school moved to the U.S. where I have lived for the past twenty two years. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music.
Being a student of music got me into contact with several languages in which I became proficient. Besides my native language I am also an advanced-high speaker of Italian, French and German; languages for which I can render the services of proofreading and editing, voice overs and subtitles. I also possess excellent written communication skills.
In the past, I had the opportunity to work as a translation specialist for one of the largest public school systems in the U.S.. My duties comprised of translating educational and testing materials, in all areas of the city's curriculum, from English into Spanish. I also worked as an interpreter in the medical field.
For several years I worked in the financial and real estate industries. My involvement in these industries led me to learn the inside language commonly used in their daily operations, as well as to learn the language commonly used in the execution of legal purchase and sale contracts.
To me datelines are very important. I understand the significance and impact they have in the business world. I am also detail oriented and I always research for the clearest translation available for each specific case. As an experienced translator I can attest of how important it is to be in tune with the nuances of tone and style in the source text, and of how important it is to be aware of specific culturally bound expressions and idioms which occur in every language. This is the challenge that I enjoy tackling, and to me it is a privilege to help my clients communicate effectively with their associates customers or counterparts.
