Source text - German Über die Erde zieht sich ein globaler Krieg. Die Globalisierung der Gewalt verlangt nach einer Kraft und einer Intelligenz, die in der Lage ist, die Globalisierung des Friedens herbeizuführen. Dafür müssen die Ursachen des Massakers verstanden und überwunden werden. Die Ursachen liegen in den internationalen Machtstrategien von Wirtschaft, Politik und Militär und sie liegen in gesellschaftlichen Lebensverhältnissen, in welchen die Jugend keine Perspektive mehr findet für Solidarität, Gemeinschaft und positiven Einsatz. Für beide Bereiche brauchen wir eine überzeugende Alternative. Der weltweite Krieg basiert in den tiefsten Strukturen unserer Zivilisation und kann deshalb nicht allein durch Friedensappelle, Aufklärung und Widerstand verhindert werden. Die globale Friedensarbeit braucht ein neues globales Konzept für eine Erde ohne Krieg.
Translation - Portuguese Uma guerra global atravessa a Terra. A globalização da violência requer uma força e uma inteligência que sejam capazes de manifestar a globalização da Paz. As origens do massacre têm de ser entendidas e superadas. Estas origens encontram-se nas estratégias dos poderes internacionais na economia, na política e na área militar, e encontram-se também nas condições de vida da nossa sociedade, dentro das quais a juventude já não encontra as suas perspetivas nas áreas da solidariedade, da comunidade e de um empenho positivo. Precisamos de uma alternativa convincente em ambas as áreas. A guerra global tem as suas raízes nas estruturas mais profundas da nossa civilização e como tal não pode ser impedida apenas através de apelos à paz, esclarecimentos ou resistência. O trabalho pela paz global precisa de um novo conceito global para uma Terra sem guerra.

I am an experienced translator and interpreter, mainly in the fields of sociology, environment, education, and correspondence.
Having grown up bilingual German/Portuguese, I started translating in 2001, within the Peace Research Centre Tamera, in south Portugal. This gave me the opportunity to translate stunning, deeply interesting texts, and interpret amazing speakers
over the past 13 years on many conferences.

As an interpretor, I have a high commitment to put myself in service for communication between people who would otherwise not understand each other. I interpreted countless speeches, on stage (consecutive) or in cabin (simultaneous), accompanied guided tours, talks between change makers from different continents, among many other situations. Some of the most intense interpreting experiences I had were on journeys to „crisis areas“, where interpreting was needed day and night, and was crucial to be precisely and thoughtfully delivered, often times in crucial situations.
Aside of my professional skills, I feel committed to finding solutions to the crisis we as humanity have brought into being.
