I hereby offer my services as Spanish-English translator and interpreter.

My resume (enclosed) contains information about my education and experience. My BA in Translation and Interpretation majored in Technical and Judicial translation and Conference Interpreting, while one of the main focuses of my PhD. research was the use of intercultural mediation in translation and interpretation (an evaluation of my credentials by GCEvaluators in Texas is available upon request). After moving to the US I have obtained the CCHI Medical Interpreter Certification and I am happy to inform that I have completed most of the process (lacking only the ethics exam, date pending) to be awarded with the Oregon Judicial Interpreter Certification on December 19th, 2014.

Of my 9 years of professional experience I highlight the services provided as a certified judicial translator and interpreter in Spanish Courts and for the US Consular Agency in Las Palmas (Spain). I also emphasize the work done regularly as conference interpreter (simultaneous and consecutive modes) and the many written translation assignments (technical, legal, art, government agencies, etc.) carried out as Independent Contractor for translation agencies in Spain. For the past 18 months I have worked in the US as telephonic/face-to-face medical interpreter for Telelanguage and Language Line Solutions providing excellent interpretation and customer service to its clients.

The Canary Islands (Spain), where I resided until two years ago, presents a diverse labour market in which translators and interpreters are obliged to work in an abundance of themes (medical, art, technology, politics, legal) and in different working environments (simultaneous/consecutive/bilateral interpretation in conferences, seminars, courses, trials) providing its translation and interpretation professionals with a rich background both in areas of knowledge and modes of practice.
