I was born in Estonia, where I grew up, went to school and university. At grammar school I specialised in humanities - English, Swedish, History. I then went on to study Social Work at the University of Tallinn, spending part of my studies as an international, English-speaking student in Helsinki, Finland.
In 2005, I moved to United Kingdom, to complete the Master of Arts in Translation Studies at the University of Warwick. During my studies I started working at the Department of Work and Pensions, dealing with thousands of customers all over UK on the phone. As a result, I feel at home with a variety of British, European and non-European accents, which makes subtitling a natural role for me. I am not trained in simultaneous interpreting, however.
Currently I work for the Air Traffic Services in Estonia. |
