I have worked as a translator and interpreter from Polish into English and vice versa since 1985. From 1980 to 1985, I studied English and sociolinguistics.  At that time, my university program was considered the best English language master's program in Poland.  My year was the first one in the history of the program to go through formal interpreting and translation training.

In 1988, I left for the United States.  In the years that followed, I graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a Juris Doctor degree, worked in law and finance focused jobs in  corporate finance, investment management and private equity.   When conditions allowed, I continued working on translations and interpreting, from simultaneous interpreting at the World Bank and the IMF to interpreting for President Clinton. 

I moved back to Poland in 1995, and became professionally fully involved in financial services.  I worked in Warsaw, Vienna and the City of London.  I returned to translation and interpreting in 2009.   I specialize in technical translations, including medicine and life sciences (HIPAA Certified), law (contracts, intellectual property (incl. patents)), banking and asset management, IT, environmental sciences, real estate (including construction and infrastructure), engineering, and defense.  Finally, I provide additional services, such as proofreading, QC, localization, and general editing.
