I have worked as a translator and interpreter from English into Polish and vice versalish into English since 1985. Having graduated from what was at that time considered the best English language university program in Poland. My year was the first one in the history of the program to go through formal interpreting and translation seminars.
That was in 1985. Since then I graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a Juris Doctor degree, worked in non-translation jobs for law firms, consulting companies, focused on corporate finance and private equity. However, I continued working on translating assignments, and when conditions allowed, did interpreting jobs, from simultaneous interpreting at the World Bank and the IMF to interpreting for President Clinton. I moved back to Poland in 1995 and became professionally involved in asset management services. I returned to full-time translation and interpreting in 2009.
I specialize in technical translations, including law (contracts, intellectual property (incl. patents)), medical and life sciences, IT, environmental sciences and ecology, energy, mining, real estate (including construction and infrastructure), social sciences, financial services, engineering, and defense. I provide voiceover and transcription services, as well proofreading, QC, localization, and general editing. I do not translate fiction or any other literary works.
