সংবাদমাধ্যমটি জানিয়েছে, পানডো নেটওয়ার্কস এই প্রতিবেদন তৈরি করতে সংশ্লিষ্ট দেশসমূহে জানুয়ারি থেকে জুন ২০১১-এর মধ্যে দুই কোটি কম্পিউটার ব্যবহার করে ২৭ মিলিয়ন ডাউনলোড করা হয়েছে। এতে দেখা গেছে, বিশ্বব্যাপী গড় ডাউনলোড স্পিড হচ্ছে প্রতি সেকেন্ডে ৫৮০ কিলোবাইট। এই হিসেবে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ২৬তম দেশ যেখানে গড় ডাউনলোড স্পিড সেকেন্ডে ৬১৬ কিলোবাইট। তবে এক্ষেত্রে ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিস প্রোভাইডারের ওপর অনেক কিছু নির্ভর করে বলে প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে।
সংশ্লিষ্ট প্রেস রিলিজে পানডো জানিয়েছে, যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে ভেরিজনের ভোক্তারা গড়ে প্রতি সেকেন্ডে ১,০৫৬ কিলোবাইট ডাউনলোড স্পিড পেয়ে থাকেন যা দেশটির গড় ইন্টারনেট স্পিডের তুলনায় অনেক বেশি। তবে এরপরও আন্তর্জাতিক তুলনায় সর্বোচ্চ স্পিডের অর্ধেক মাত্র।
প্রকাশিত তালিকা অনুসারে সারাবিশ্বে সবচেয়ে দ্রুতগতির ইন্টারনেট সুবিধা ভোগ করেন দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ার ব্যবহারকারীরা। দেশটির গড় ডাউনলোড স্পিড হচ্ছে ২,২০২ কিলোবাইট পার সেকেন্ড। দ্বিতীয় অবস্থানে রয়েছে রোমানিয়া যেখানকার গড় ডাউনলোড স্পিড সেকেন্ডে ১,৯০৯ কিলোবাইট। আর তৃতীয় অবস্থানে রয়েছে বুলগেরিয়া যেখানে ব্যবহারকারীরা গড়ে প্রতি সেকেন্ডে ১,৬১১ কিলোবাইট ডাউনলোড স্পিড উপভোগ করে থাকেন। এসব তথ্য পানডো নেটওয়ার্কের সাইটে প্রকাশ করেছে কোম্পানিটি।

অন্যদিকে সবচেয়ে ধীরগতির ইন্টারনেট স্পিড রয়েছে কঙ্গোতে যেখানে গড় ডাউনলোড স্পিড রয়েছে প্রতি সেকেন্ডে ১৩ কিলোবাইট। এরপর রয়েছে সেন্ট্রাল আফ্রিকান রিপাবলিক যেখানকার গড় ডাউনলোড স্পিড সেকেন্ডে ১৪ কিলোবাইট।
Translation - English Pando Networks has released a list of the top 15 countries with the highest internet speeds upon completing a recent review of internet speeds of different countries in the world. Bangladesh failed to make its position in the list but it did advance itself in internet speed comparison from previous years. According to the report published, the average download speed in Bangladesh is around 60 kilobytes per second which is higher than many African nations. News from The Huffington Post.
The report titled “Global Internet Speed Study” compared the uploading and downloading speeds of 224 countries around the globe.
The news source said, the report of Pando Networks has been based on the comparison of 27 million downloads made in the countries studied between January to June 2011 using 20 million computers. The study reveladed that the average global internet download speed stands at 580 kilobytes in one second. The US made to the 26th position of the list having an average of 616 kilobytes of download speed. However, the report also added that speeds vary according to the service providers that provide internet access to users.
Pando in its accompanying press release said, Americans who use Verizon services enjoy a download speed of 1056 kilobytes per second which is quite higher than the overall US internet speed average. However, it is only half of the world’s highest internet speed.
According to the list published, South Koreans benefit from the highest internet speeds with up to 2202 kilobytes per second. Romania topped second of the list having an average of 1909 kilobytes of download speed. Then comes Bulgaria where users can get around 1611 kilobytes of internet speed for downloading. Pando has published details of the list on its website.
Worth mentioning, the world map attached to the report showed the average download speed of Bangladesh at 60 kilobytes per second. In addition, neighboring India’s internet speed average was shown at 184 kilobytes every second.
Meanwhile, the African state of Congo secured the bottom position in the list with having only 13 kilobytes per second of download speed. Above it stood Central African Republic whose average internet speed is around 14 kilobytes in one second.

The updates were revealed at Facebook's annual F8 developer conference.
A wave of new features in recent weeks have been welcomed by some users and caused annoyance to many others.
Facebook's latest changes point to a desire to keep users engaged through new features, in the midst of rapid innovation from social networking rivals.
The site's application platform has been redesigned to allow users to share what they are consuming on streaming music services such as Spotify, and the movie rental site Netflix.
News sites, including the Guardian and Independent newspapers, are also included in the initial roll out.
Depending on privacy settings, users will be able to see what friends are doing - for example, playing a song - then listen-in themselves.
"Being able to click on someone's music is a great experience, but knowing you helped a friend discover something new and they liked your taste in music, and that you now have that in common is awesome," he added.
Facebook said that users would only be able to do as much on the site as its media partners allowed in each country, so free music sharing through streaming apps would only work where that service was already available outside Facebook.

ফেইসবুক কর্তৃপক্ষ জানিয়েছে, গ্রাহকেরা বিনামূল্যে গান ভাগাভাগি করার সেবা যেগুলো ফেইসবুকে অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবার আগেও সচল ছিল - সেগুলো সাইটে উপভোগ করতে পারবে তবে তা হবে মিডিয়া সেবা প্রদানকারিদের শর্ত সাপেক্ষে এবং গ্রাহকেরা যেদেশে বসবাসরত সেদেশে সেবাটি আছে কিনা তার উপর নির্ভর করে।

I am Sharif Shabbir (oyeshorjo), a native Bengali speaker from Bangladesh.
