I began my writing career in journalism, and worked for six years as a reporter for newspapers up and down the east coast of the United States. I then moved on to freelance and corporate communications/marketing writing and copy-editing. Nowadays, I freelance for newspapers and magazines and translate Swedish texts into English. My specialty is translating or rewriting creative copy for use in brochures, advertisements and websites. I also enjoy translating fiction. That said, my years as a journalist have equipped me to handle texts associated with just about any field. Over the years, I have written about legal issues, business, science, the arts, and so forth.

I possess a near-fluent reading level in Swedish, and can translate sophisticated source texts into clean, accurate, native-English copy. I live in a Swedish community and am married to a native Swedish-speaker who is always ready to explain an unfamiliar term or idiom. I can offer translations in both British and American English: I lived in England for 7 years and was educated in England at secondary school and university level.
