Graduate in MA Technical and Specialised Translation from the University of Westminster, previously graduated in BA Hons German Studies and Italian at the University of Warwick. Having refined my translation skills in an academic setting and having rapidly launched my career in the translation industry as an in-house translator, I now offer my services on a freelance basis, providing professional translations from German and Italian into English for a range of international clients.

- Technical and institutional translation modules in German and Italian covered a vast range of texts including legal, financial, technical and medical fields of specialisation.
- MA Project: completed 6,000-word German translation of an academic paper regarding neuroscientific research relating to human language processing, plus annotations and a translator’s preface.

Employment:
Following my Master's degree at Westminster, I began as an in-house translator for APT Transtelex Ltd, based in Putney, London. I worked here for 2.5 years, gaining much experience from more senior members of staff and also getting an insight into project management, translation software and word processing skills, which weren't covered by my university education!

On a daily basis I translated a wide variety of texts, from business contracts to agricultural machinery marketing to medical notes. The majority of work I undertook at APT Transtelex Ltd was medical in nature, and this is where my interest lies and where I specialise.
The medical texts I translate cover marketing texts for clinical trials, clinical trial documentation, patient information sheets, informed consent forms, ethics committee letters, clinical trials contracts, certificates, handwritten doctor's notes, hospital notes and patient records.

Aside from medical marketing texts for drug companies and clinical trials, I have also carried out marketing translations for a wide range of high-profile clients, including Dyson, John Deere and Samsung.

I am also very experienced in the translation of legal and business texts, including contracts, service agreements and legal proceeding documentation.

I have translated a number of technical texts for several well-known international brands concerned with agricultural machinery, IT and computing, oil and gas rigs, industrial and mechanical tools and automotive engineering. I will only accept technical texts if I am confident of my knowledge in the subject matter.
