I am a qualified French to English translator specialising in international development, health, sustainability and conflict resolution.

I have extensive training in French language and translation, including BA (Hons) in French and Linguistics and the Chartered Institute of Linguists’ Diploma in Translation, a postgraduate professional qualification. I am an Associate of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and work to their Code of Conduct.

I have been working as a freelance translator since 2010 (full-time since 2014), consistently producing high quality work to deadlines and receiving very positive feedback from clients. I have translated over 400,000 words to date, predominantly for United Nations agencies, international organisations and NGOs.

Prior to this, I spent 15 years working in funding, fundraising and administration for major national and international organisations, including the BBC, NHS, Amnesty International, ActionAid and Arts Council England. These roles have helped me develop my writing and editing skills through producing texts for a variety of audiences - from general fundraising materials to formal funding bids; from in-house training manuals to reports for committees. I pride myself on producing accurate translations which flow naturally and use an appropriate style and terminology for the audience.

The services I offer include translation from French into English, reviewing translated texts, proofreading and rewriting English texts.
