Source text - German Nicht erst im 20. Jahrhundert hat sich Farbe als elementares Gestaltungselement in der Malerei behauptet. Schon Giotto, Raphael und vor allem der späte Tizian entwickelten eine eigene Bildmetaphorik auf der Basis ihrer sehr spezifischen Verwendung von Farbe. Monochromie und Farbe als Visualisierung menschlicher Empfindung, besonders als Primärfarbe mit Signalwirkung, gilt schließlich als wesentliches Charakteristikum des deutschen Expressionismus. Buntwerte entsprechen nicht mehr der Wirklichkeit, sondern leiten zur Befreiung der Farbe als reines Gestaltungs- und Ausdrucksmittel über. Farbe wird Grundlage der Bildaussage und soll durch ihre unmittelbare sinnliche Gegenwart in der Lage sein, bildliche Bedeutung herzustellen. Im Wesentlichen baut die Phänomenologie der Farbe auf Goethes Lehre der „Sinnlich-sittlichen Wirkung der Farbe“ auf, die Wahrnehmung und Bedeutung der Farbe auf den Menschen präzise beschreibt. Vor allem die Grundfarben Rot, Gelb und Blau sind in ihrem grundsätzlichen Charakter ausführlich formuliert und mit generellen Empfindungen belegt.
Translation - English The 20th century was not the first time that color asserted itself as a fundamental compositional element. Giotto, Raphael, and above all the later works of Titian had already developed their own metaphorical imagery on the basis of their very specific use of color. Monochrome and color as the visualization of human emotions, in particular primary colors with a signaling effect, were ultimately an essential characteristic of German expressionism. Color values no longer correspond to reality but lead to the freeing of color as a medium of pure creativity and expressiveness. Color is at the core of the picture’s message and should be in a position to establish visual meaning through its immediate sensory presence. The phenomenology of color is essentially based on Goethe and his concept of “the sensory-moral effect of color” that precisely describes man’s perception and understanding of the meaning of color. Above all, he elaborates on the essential character of the primary colors red, yellow and blue, supporting this with general associations and sentiments.

Jahrhundert hatten Teile der bildenden Kunst (parallel zu entsprechenden Entwicklungen in der Musik der zweiten Wiener Schule) angefangen, (neben den Objekten) auch die Individuen auf neuartige Weise unsichtbar zu machen; die Darstellungen begannen von ihren figurativen Erscheinungen zu abstrahieren (Müller, Kandinsky). Die Bedürfnisse der Menschen, ihre Motive und Interessen schienen ‚in die Funktion gerutscht‘ (Brecht), nur mehr von ihren Funktionen her verstehbar. Auch den damaligen Gegenwartsdiagnosen galten die Individuen als bloßes Anhängsel moderner Strukturen, genau als das, wozu sie die große Industrie mit ihren Systemen der Lohnabhängigkeit gemacht hatten. Dieses reale Abstrahieren vom ‚Menschen‘ in der sozialen Wirklichkeit kann man als Ansatzpunkt für die abstrahierenden Bild-Darstellungen lesen. Wo die Figuren nicht im Ungegenständlichen verschwunden waren, untergetaucht in der Unterschiedslosigkeit der nationalen Massengesellschaften, erschienen sie abstrahiert, ohne dass die bildenden Künstler es noch für nötig halten, ihre individuellen Besonderheiten zur Geltung zu bringen.
Translation - English At some point around the turn of the 20th century, (parallel to corresponding developments in the music of the Second Viennese School), certain movements in the visual arts had begun to make the individual (as well as objects) indiscernible in a new way; figurative portrayals began to turn towards abstraction (Müller, Kandinsky). People’s needs, their motives and interests seem to have ‘slipped into function’ (Brecht), now more comprehensible in terms of function. The contemporary diagnosis of the time also saw individuals as mere adjuncts to modern structural systems, just what industry had intended for them with its scheme of creating a dependence on wages. This actual abstraction of ‘people’ in social reality can be read as a starting point for the abstraction in visual imagery. Where the figures had not disappeared into non-representation, submerged in the lack of differentiation seen in national faceless societies, they appeared abstracted, the artist not considering it necessary to emphasize their individual uniqueness.

Source text - German Das ursprüngliche Bebauungsgebiet umfasste 19100qm. Im Laufe des Verfahrens wurde der Geltungsbereich um ein Biotop im Osten und um den Ortsrand von Alburg erweitert. Der Planungsraum gliedert sich in 12 Einheiten, innerhalb derer unterschiedliche Parzellen gebündelt sind. Die Struktur dieser Einheiten erlaubt eine Überplanung mit Wohnbebauung und Gewerberaum in einem attraktiven Maß. Die privaten Quartiere grenzen sich städtebaulich, topographisch und landschaftlich stark vom öffentlichen Raum ab. Durch die Umfriedung mit Gartenmauern mit entsprechenden Torsituationen, dem Niveausprung und dem differenzierten Grünraumkonzept kommt es zu einer klaren Trennung von privatem und öffentlichem Raum. In dieser Hierarchie von Räumen ist der öffentliche Bereich klar definiert und von den Planern festgelegt. Im Gegensatz hierzu ist der private Raum individuell frei gestaltbar, sozusagen als Modellbeispiel eines „schlanken Bebauungsplans“.
Translation - English The original building area comprised 19,100 m². During the course of the development, the area was expanded along the edge of a biotope in the east and around the outskirts of Alburg. The planning area is divided into 12 units, of which several subdivisions form clusters. The structure of these units make it possible to plan both the residential quarters and the commercial area in attractive dimensions. The private accommodation differentiates greatly in its urban design, topography and landscape from the public area surrounding it. Through the use of garden walls as borders and the corresponding gate situation, the jump in elevation and the unique landscape concept, a clear separation between private and public spheres is achieved. Within this hierarchy of areas, the public zone is clearly defined and fixed by the planners. In contrast, the private zone can be individually and freely designed, as a model, quasi, for a streamlined construction plan.
