Bio
A translation is no translation, he said, unless it will give you the music of a poem along with the words of it. - John Millington Synge

Even though I do not have any experience in ProZ.com so far, I am not a beginner, as it's possible to see from the sample I uploaded in this profile.

I have the CAE certificate from Cambridge (grade A), study Spanish literature, and by my own interest, have done courses in translation. I have already worked as an interpret, and am now an English teacher (in Brazil, for Brazilian students). I have also translated some literary minor works (short stories) as "practice", never trying to publish any of them - though I would be pleased to show them to anyone interested in a sample of my work.

I specialize in literature, but if asked can do translation in other areas - which, as most interested in the translation business know - have the problem of a specific vocabulary, while, on the other hand, usually aren't as concerned as literary works about tone, rhythm, form, etc., which makes them, at a certain level, easier.

I have already done translations of biology papers (outside ProZ). I must be honest to assume, though, that the translations of these kind of work take a longer time, since I have to research thoroughly the vocabulary to be certain of my translations - which means that, if you are planning on hiring me for a different job than the literary translations, it would probably be wise to consider the rate per word, instead of the rate per hour. I, however, assure the quality of my work, in any field asked.

Thank you for the time you took to read this not really short and commercial, but honest, text.
