Briefly about myself:
For the past 4.5 years now though I have been a freelance Translator for Italian < > English copy and simultaneous interpreting. My clients include such firms/entities as the UK Ministry of Defense, Barclay's Bank, Telecom Italia, Grazia’lliani Lingerie, Luce e Design-China magazine, General Electric, Duke Energy etc. I also have a food and wine touring company that I run on the side. I just completed translating a 40K word translation for a book on EU regulations pertaining to construction.
I have a BA in Italian from Indiana University, Bloomington, a leader in Italian study. I also have studied at the Universita di Bologna (Erasmus) focusing on Romantic Literature, Italian post war cinema and Egyptian Archeology. I also have an minor from the Kelly School of Business, Indiana University Bloomington.
As you know most translator rates vary. My rates, depend on the type and complexity of work, range from .06USD$ to .095USD$ per word for copy translation. I also have an hourly rate and a "per project" rate if needed. I request payment with 30 days of completion and I generally work for a rate of .08 cent US per word.

As I stated earlier, I am a freelance translator with complex business and engineering glossaries (tm's with Trados and SWII) that I maintain along with a reputation for working fast, clean and on-time. Turn around times for each document is between 24 to 48 hours. However if the document is of a large amount the turnaround time will be estimated on an average 2,500 words per day ratio.
