Source text - English “Let us make a comparison. A camel can smell water and food many kilometres away and runs towards it when it feels hungry. When a car runs out of fuel, the mechanism is as dead as a rock. The camel can feel sandstorms approach and its body is adjusted to surviving them. It can close its eyes and nose airtight. Its fur and organs contain an air conditioning system. It can survive for weeks without eating or drinking. However, it can drink a 100 litres and its humps serve to store food. And above all, don’t forget, in its belly there is a little factory that can develop little camels. On top of this, it has still another facility to feed that little camel until it can find its own food.
What then is the little mechanism of a car as compared to that of a camel? Agreed that both are in fact a mechanism?
Translation - Turkish “Hadi bir karşılaştırma yapalım. Bir deve suyun ve yiyeceğin kokusunu kilometrelerce öteden alabilir ve acıktığında o yiyeceğe doğru koşar. Bir arabanın benzini bittiğinde ise mekanizması bir kaya gibi yerinden kıpırdayamaz hale gelir. Bir deve, kum fırtınasının yaklaştığını hissedebilir ve vücudu bu fırtınalarda hayatta kalmasını sağlayacak şekilde kendisini ayarlar. Gözlerini ve burnunu hava geçirmeyecek şekilde sımsıkı kapatabilir. Postu ve organları bir tür havalandırma sistemine sahiptir. Yemek yemeden ve su içmeden haftalarca hayatta kalabilir. Ancak, 100 litre su içebilir ve hörgüçleri yiyecek depolama görevini yapar. Ve en önemlisi, karnının içinde yavru develeri meydana getirebilecek adeta küçük bir fabrikası olduğunu unutmamak gerek. Hatta bunun da ötesinde, kendi yiyeceğini bulana kadar bu yavru develerden birini besleyebilecek bir bölümü daha vardır. O zaman bir arabanın küçük mekanizması bir deveninkiyle neden karşılaştırılır? Her ikisinin de aslında sadece birer mekanizma olduğu konusunda şimdi hemfikir misiniz?
