A Harangedény-Csepel csoport – más közép-európai harangedényes csoportokkal egy időben – a Kr.e. 3. évezred közepén (a magyarországi terminológia szerinti kora bronzkor 2. időszakban) jelent meg. Budapest és a Csepel-sziget térségében, (néhány kivételtől eltekintve) egy szűk Duna-menti sávban (1. kép 1.). Az elsősorban csontvázas és szórt-hamvasztásos sírok mellékleteként megjelenő jellegzetes harangedényes „package” elemei (harangedények, réztőrök, csuklóvédők, V-furatú csontgombok) egy viszonylag rövid időszakra korlátozódnak, a csoport anyagi kultúrája (álláspontunk szerint) beolvadt a nagyrévi kultúrába.

The cremation and flexed burial grave goods feature, alongside the bell beakers, bronze daggers, wristbands and bone buttons with v-shaped bores and span a relatively short period since the Csepel Bell Beaker group arguably merged with the Nagyrévi culture.
