Stop, stop and listen for the bough top
Is whistling and the sun is brighter
Than God's own shadow in the cup now!
Forget the hour-bell. Mournful matins
Will sound, Patrick, as well at nightfall.
Faintly through mist of broken water
Fionn heard my melody in Norway.
He found the forest track, he brought back
This beak to gild the branch and tell, there,
Why men must welcome in the daylight.
He loved the breeze that warns the black grouse,
The shouts of gillies in the morning
When packs are counted and the swans cloud
Loch Erne, but more than all those voices
My throat rejoicing from the hawthorn.
In little cells behind a cashel,
Patrick, no handbell gives a glad sound.
But knowledge is found among the branches.
Listen! That song that shakes my feathers
Will thong the leather of your satchels.

Halt! Halt! Horcht doch auf das Rascheln zwischen
der Astspitzen! Dann erstrahlt die Sonnen wie ein Kegel
und heiterer als Gottes Schein und Kelch der Freude.
Patrick, dann bleibt der Schall der Stundenglocke hohl,
ihr Morgenlob wie die Schwermut einer dumpfen Nacht.
Viel leiser noch als der Nebel und Neid der bewegten See
hörte Fionn bis nach Norwegen von diesen Melodien.
Dort in den Pfaden der Wälder vernahm er bestimmt,
wie dieser goldene Schnabel den Zweigen spüren lässt,
warum er uns wohl bei Tagesanbruch bewillkommnet.
Er liebte die Brise, die die Birkhenne neugierig macht,
die Lachsalven der Gillies beim Vorübergehen am Morgen,
während ein Schwarm Schwäne die Wolken um Loch Erne
wie Meute beschnattert, aber mehr als all das Murren
und Gurren diesen jubelnden Übermut im Hagedorn.
Dort oben hinter den hügeligen Fluren und Äckern,
Patrick, verstummt zwar der Hall der Tischglocken,
aber davon zu wissen, erfreut selbst kleine Ästchen.
Horcht! Gezwitscher, das an meiner Feder rütteln mag,
wird auch eure verschnürten Ledertaschen erobern.

We were only ten or so, and while all the other boys settled down for the night in their sleeping bags, we were very embarrassed when we had to snuggle inside a special double sleeping bag my mother had made for us out of two blankets.

Before I went to college, during the sixth-form holidays, I got a job on a building site. Mike didn’t work. He was resting. One week I said to the foreman, ‘Can I have a week off?’ ‘Certainly,’ he said, ‘but you won’t have a job when you get back.’ It was really hard work, mainly carrying sand and bricks. On the Friday night, I said to my brother, ‘Would you like to earn a week’s money?’ And he said, yes. So I told him about everything. Where the sand was, where the bricks were; and I described the eight workmen. On Monday morning, he went down in my jeans, jacket and woolly hat. He worked there all week and none of them knew the difference. Two years later I met the foreman in a pub and I bought him a drink. I told him the story, but he just laughed and said he didn’t believe me. There was no way I could convince him.

Wir waren erst zehn oder so, und während alle anderen Jungen sich in ihren Schlafsäcken schlafen legten, waren wir sehr beschämt, als wir uns in einen speziellen, doppelten Schlafsack hinein kuscheln mussten, den meine Mutter für uns gemacht hatte.

Bevor ich studierte, während der Ferien der sechsten Klasse, bekam ich auf einer Baustelle einen Job. Mike arbeitete nicht. Er ruhte sich aus. Nach kurzer Zeit sagte ich zum Polier: „Kann ich eine Woche frei haben?“ „Sicher“, sagte er, „aber du wirst keinen Job mehr haben, wenn du zurückkehrst.“ Es war wirklich schwere Arbeit, hauptsächlich Sand und Ziegel schleppen. Freitagabend sagte ich zu meinem Bruder: „Möchtest du dir einen Wochenlohn verdienen?“ Und er sagte ja. Also erzählte ich ihm alles. Wo der Sand war, wo die Ziegel waren; und ich beschrieb die acht Arbeiter. Am Montagmorgen ging er in meinen Jeans, meiner Jacke und meinem flauschigen Hut hinunter. Er arbeitete dort die ganze Woche und keiner von ihnen bemerkte den Unterschied. Zehn Jahre später traf ich den Polier in einer Kneipe und ich kaufte ihm einen Drink. ...Während des fünften Monats wird der Körper der werdenden Mutter sichtbarer, weil die Gebärmutter groß geworden ist und die obere Rundung bis zum Nabel der Mutter reicht. Bei einigen Frauen kann es zu Dunkelfärbungen der Gesichtshaut und des Bauches kommen. Während des sechsten Monats wächst die Gebärmutter zwei Finger oberhalb des Bauchnabels und Organe wie der Magen werden zur Seite geschoben, was Verdauungsprobleme verursachen kann. Das Herz und andere Organe sind nun bis zum Ende der Schwangerschaft bis zur äußersten Belastbarkeit beansprucht und daher soll zusätzliche Anstrengung nach Möglichkeit vermieden werden.

Welcome! I always meet people and I like to talk to them, but somewhere inside there is silence and there will always be. And I ask myself: "How would you travel from Vienna to Amsterdam?"
When I am talking about myself, I don't mention that there is something black, something yellow, something brown, something white, something red, something blue, and sometimes something a bit green, but there is something I am really interested in. This is analysis.
That is for sure, I consider more time than carnival and Shrovetide.
When I did my translating course, I was that enthusiastic day-in, day-out, nobody would stand it. I don't want to miss that period and wish to share my experience and knowledge with enthusiasts of literature, philosophy, art, music, health, business, software, websites, technology...considering that atmosphere is atmosphere and not athmosphere and that my deadline is my deadline.
