I am a professional translator from German into English, specialising in the fields of Information Technology and communications, business/commerce and marketing.

I started my translation career in 1994 in Germany with SAP AG, a leading business software company, where I translated program texts, manuals and documentation. As of 1997, I have worked as a freelance translator and proof-reader, based in the UK, for numerous companies and language services providers. I can offer over eighteen years’ freelance experience, mainly in the IT and communications field. The types of text I have translated or corrected range from software and manuals to press releases, marketing material, e-learning courseware and website content. Former/present clients include Siemens Translation Services, the Language Technology Centre Ltd, Schueco International and Think Global GmbH.

I have a BA (Hons) degree in Modern Languages (with Business Studies) from the University of Swansea, South Wales, and have been a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) since 2001.

Backed with a relevant formal qualification and having lived and worked in Germany, I have an excellent knowledge of the German language. I am able to draw on my experience as an in-house translator and on my many years’ experience as a freelance translator to write translations that are technically accurate and stylistically appropriate. All work is thoroughly checked to ensure the highest quality standard.
