English to Spanish: THE TRANSNATIONAL BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT General field: Bus/Financial
Source text - English 1.2 The Interdependence of National Markets and the Emergence of the Global Marketplace
1.2.1 Market Globalizatlon and Interdependence
Business perspectives and strategies have become transnational to an unprecedented degree in response to the development of intemational markets and the infrastructures that serve them. Even small investors are now regularly advised to consider their options in global terms, as has long been done by their institutional counterparts. Stock exchanges are now widely dispersed and typically offer foreign and domestic securities; companies, large and small, plan their fundraising accordingly. Computerization and advances in telecommunications, in turn, allow the avid investor to trade on a 24-hour basis and, increasingly, to execute transactions with unprecedented speed. At the sarne time, the world's financial and equity markets demonstrate both remarkable interdependence and persistent innovativeness.
Transnational approaches to the various forms of direct investment are now prevalent. Prompted by various factors, businesses, large and small, look beyond familiar territory to consider the relative merits of intemational collaborations and foreign venues. Japanese automakers, for instance, court their American or European counterparts and vice versa. If all goes well, synergism prevails. Thus, not surprisingly, the nomenclature of intemational business now includes the term "strategic alliance," a topic generating at least one newsletter.
