After having passed my Matura (university entrance exam) at a commercial high school I spent one year in London as an au-pair and did the Cambridge Certificate. Back to Austria I studied English and Italian at the University of Graz (A) to become a translator and interpreter. I also studied one year in Milan at the Scuola Superiore per Traduttori ed Interpreti. While writing my thesis in Austria, I started to work for a translation agency in Project Management and did also small translations. Then I spent 3 months in Australia. After my return to Austria I moved to Vienna and worked for another translation agency before I switched to an international company in industries where I was responsible for Marketing & Sales for the Italian and Eastern European market.
With all that professional experience I decided not to continue doing translations next to a job that already filled my day, but to start working as a free-lance translator for English and Italian to German so that I could do what I have always wanted to do full-time.
