Bio
Brazilian lawyer with 25+ years' experience in translation, mostly in the legal field (contracts, decisions, decrees, legal opinions, acts, legal essays/articles, school transcripts, birth certificates, balance sheets, financial documents, etc.), having translated a substantial amount of financial documents submitted to the USCIS in visa proceedings (U.S.). I have also provided a great deal of services associated with the medical field (as an interpreter for insurance companies, assisting non-English-speaker patients; providing written translation of hospital/medical products specifications/instructions, medical reports, etc.), the media (as a translator for a business newspaper in the U.S.) and as a volunteer interpreter in personal growth workshops, and a volunteer translator at a spiritual community website, among others.

I have also assisted professionals, esp. lawyers in writing articles for international publications.

As a translator, I have worked both as an in-house and freelance translator, providing services to lawyers, companies, expats, and individuals in general, both in the U.S. and Brazil.

I hold a BA in Translation & Interpretation (English-Portuguese) from Faculdade da Cidade (Rio, Brazil) since 1983. I also hold a Law degree from UERJ - Rio de Janeiro State University.

In 1997, I got accredited by the ATA for English>Port.

In June 2012 - I was awarded an LL.M (Master of Laws) degree by Thomas Jefferson School of Law (San Diego, CA) in International Taxation and Financial Services - Thesis submitted: "Implications of the transfer of Skilled Workers between Brazil and the USA"

Holder of dual citizenship Brazil/USA.
