Andrea Lessard, Owner/Principal Translator at Rooftop Language Services, uses professional, linguistic and translation skills to facilitate better communication.

As a graduate of the École Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ESIT) in Paris, France, with a Masters in Editorial, Economic and Technical Translation (FR<>EN), and a certified (FR-EN) and associate (EN-FR) member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Alberta (ATIA), Andrea’s work has been recognized within the industry for achieving excellent standards. She also represents ATIA with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, and is working with the two organizations to foster awareness and educate the business community on the importance of and value in working with professionals to meet language needs.

Andrea specializes in French-English and English-French translations. Prior to venturing out as an independent translator and then founding Rooftop, she worked as an English teacher in Paris, provided administrative services at a major French services company (including translating marketing materials, technical brochures and manuals), and launched the in-house translation department within a French IT security company.

Passionate about learning and language, and dedicated to building positive relationships through collaboration, Andrea started Rooftop Language Services to address the need for qualified technical translators, especially in the IT field. She can confidently work with tight deadlines and complicated material in both IT and a variety of other industries.
