Source text - English The Office of Community Service estimates that Child Care Assistance will be nearly $200,000 over budget by the end of 2009. This projection is due to the City´s over-commitment to families at the close of 2008 and increases in the financial support to families in response to employers instituting reductions in work hours, reduction in wages, and temporary or short-term layoffs.
Translation - Spanish La Oficina de Servicios Comunitarios estima que la Asistencia para Cuidado Infantil superará el presupuesto en casi $200,000 para fines de 2009. Esta proyección se debe al compromiso excesivo de la Ciudad con las familias al cierre del año 2008 y a los aumentos en el apoyo financiero que reciben las familias como respuesta a las decisiones patronales de implementar reducciones en los horarios de trabajo, recortes salariales y despidos temporarios o de corto plazo.
