I have been working as a professional freelance translator since 2005. I achieved a "Merit" in the "Technology" option of my Diploma in Translation exam (Institute of Linguists) in 2010 and a "Distinction" pass mark in the "Law" option in 2012.. I obtained a dual diploma in classical archaeology and teaching from the University of Istanbul in 2001 and I taught Turkish in the UK professionally in 2005 and 2008. In 2005, I wrote my own Turkish learning book for foreign learners, in English. I obtained a TEFL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certificate from ICAL. Although I have received education, training and experience in teaching, I no longer offer this service and I am a full-time qualified freelance TRANSLATOR and INTERPRETER only. Although I have substantial experience within the public service interpretation, due to latest cuts in fees I no longer offer my services in this field but I would consider individual assignments depending on the fee offered and my availability. At the moment, I spend most of my working hours translating various materials. My Specialisations: Legal, Technical, Medical, IT.

I am a Member of Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL). Associate Member of Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI). I have an extensive library of linguistic publications and publications related to my own language combination. Since 2005 as well as translating documents of different types and subjects, I have edited some documents and magazines also transcribed extensive volume of various recordings. Knowledge, experience, fluency, punctuality. accuracy and clarity are my most important attributes. I never agree to take on a project unless I am confident I can deliver. In my entire professional translation career, I have not once missed a deadline. I am committed to professional development and I constantly strive to develop myself in different aspects of translation profession including learning about new technologies and developing my vocabulary and reading different publications about translation. My preferred translation CAT tool is Memoq 2019. I also use SDL Trados Studio 2019.
