I have worked in the semiconductor fabrication equipment industry for 25 years, both in Japan and the United States, primarily as a technical writer and translator/interpreter. I have a great deal of experience in translating equipment manuals, technical papers on semiconductor fabrication technology, newspaper and magazine articles, marketing collateral, and general business correspondence. I have also done a great deal of interpreting at training courses, seminars, technical conferences, business meetings and sales calls. While most of my translating and interpreting work has concentrated on semiconductor equipment and technology, I also have experience in other fields.

I have also done some academic translation. My published work includes "The Myth of Zen in the Art of Archery" by Professor Yamada Shoji of the International Research Center for Japanese Studies in Kyoto and "Shots in the Dark: Japan, Zen and the West", also by Professor Yamada, scheduled to be published in April of 2009 by the University of Chicago Press.
