Bio
I am native in Polish. I hold MA degree in English language and literature from the University of Silesia in Poland. I have always been fascinated by language differences between Polish and English and both of my university theses were Polish-English comparative studies. As a student I traveled numerous times to England and Scotland where my adventure with translation and interpretation first started. For six years I worked as a private English language tutor in Poland and during my graduate studies as a full time English language teacher both in Jan Kiepura Elementary School Nr 46 in Sosnowiec as well as the “Lifelong Learning Center“- CKU in Mysłowice. During my teaching career at Jan Kiepura Elementary School, I also worked as the school principal’s personal interpreter. In 2000 I participated in the conference of European School Clubs organized in Budapest, Hungary, working as an interpreter and translator. For two years during my graduate studies, I also held a part-time position at the British Council in Katowice, supporting both Polish and British supervising examiners during Cambridge ESOL examinations.

After graduating from the university, I moved to the USA. I continued my teaching career at an English language school in Chicago, the English Center. In the meantime, I studied Business English and Computerized Office Support at BIR Training Center in Chicago. In 2005 I joined a team of freelance translators and interpreters at Cross-Cultural Interpreting Services, a social enterprise of Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights in Chicago. I completed a translation course “Bridging the Gap: basic training for Medical Interpreters” and pursued my career as an interpreter and translator. Currently, I reside in northern Michigan, where every day contact with native English speakers allows me to practice and improve the art of translation. I also provide OPI interpretation services in the USA. During my career I have developed strong organizational skills and attention to detail. My international work experience helped me acquire excellent communication skills as well as intercultural sensitivity. I am able to work efficiently both independently and in a team. My extensive research allows me to approach each project with professionalism and respect. I am very flexible and punctual, able to work under constant deadline pressure.

I translate the following fields:

Computers (general), Engineering (general), Business Correspondence, Legal Documents,
Medical (general), Manufacturing
Marketing / Market Research, Advertising / Public Relations
IT (Information Technology), General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
Tourism & Travel, Cinema, Film, TV, Drama
Sports / Fitness / Recreation, Games / Video Games / Gaming / Casino
Cosmetics, Beauty, Cooking / Culinary
Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-), Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs

Since I learn with every new project and constantly seek to expand my expertise, I am willing to undertake any specialised translations.

Beyond translation, my other passions are: yoga, gardening and hiking.

Please feel free to contact me any time for an estimate via Proz email.

I feel confident that you will be fully satisfied with my services which are of best quality!
