Powergen is a supplier of electricity in the UK. Curiously, they have a website (under construction) in Italy. POWERGENITALIA.COM A tad unfortunate don't you think.

I have written to them | Aug 9, 2003 |
This is what I wrote to them. "It seems your Italian Website is under construction with the proposed name "www.powergenitalia.com". It looks awkward. Kindly reconsider the name. This is the automatic reply I got: "Thank you for sending us an email. If you required a response, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible." I am worried. How are they to know whether I required a reply? two2tango wrote: What about telling them?

Patricia CASEY United Kingdom Local time: 08:17 English to Spanish + ... It appears that this is not an Italian subsidiary of the UK Powergen, | Aug 9, 2003 |
but just a local company that didn't do its linguistic research. The head of the UK-based Powergen says that they don't have an Italian division, and weren't aware that another company existed with the same name. It's hilarious, anyway!!!

It is interesting indeed - Pied d'Athlète in French is the name of the disease. Pied de l'Athlète would be a literal translation of the foot of the athlete Interesting to see that in sports as in many other things "English sells" , and our marketing specialists prefer the name of a disease in English to a French name. If they expand into sportswear or tennis rackets, maybe they can use Tennis-L-Beau JL

As regards sites with inspired names, there is also www.whorepresents.com, which, as its name indicates, is a site about representatives.
