Dear Colleagues,

Hi and happy translator's day. I was just wondering if you could kindly advise me on the following points:

1. When I start translating with SDLX, the Farsi sentences are messed up and the word's places are changed. Of course, I have selected the right language combination before starting the translation.

2. There is no spell and grammar check despite activating this feature.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Maryam

Both problems exist in SDLX in versions I've worked with so far (2005, 2006, 2007).

- Sentence alignment not correct.

- If you have a mix of Farsi and English words in your translations, the order of words goes haywire.

- Spell checking does not work for translated segments.

Hi Maryam

Both problems exist in SDLX in versions I've worked with so far (2005, 2006, 2007).

- Sentence alignment not correct.

- If you have a mix of Farsi and English words in your translations, the order of words goes haywire.

- Spell checking does not work for translated segments.

To go around this, just keep on translating till the end, and "create translation" (hopefully it has been a Word document of some kind, if not more trouble ahead). Then sot it out there.

Or, you can convert itd files to Trados ttx files and process them in TagEditor. Much much less mess there.

Best

Rahi

P.S. By the way, maybe these will be interesting for our peers in the same language pair too if you post issues like this in the Persian forum.

Thanks Mr Moosavi! Oct 5, 2007

Dear Mr. Moosavi

Thanks for advising me how to solve the problem.

I will certainly post the forums in the Persian section from now on.

Kind Regards

Maryam
