Good morning translators!

I am planning to move to the NL due to the main fact that my partner's sister is facing a very strong therapy in Rotterdam...

Good morning translators!

I am planning to move to the NL due to the main fact that my partner's sister is facing a very strong therapy in Rotterdam...

A change for me is not going to be a problem as I can virtually work from everywhere, but for my partner – an information security expert, bilingual (EN/IT) - it is quite different. He has a very impressive CV - worked with all main IT companies in Italy and abroad – but doesn’t speak any Dutch. He had many interviews but always with no success because, he was told, he doesn't know (enough)the language although he is learning it and very fast.

I tried with many head-hunters, and had a positive feedback, but the whole process takes ages. I also emailed to relocation experts but still...

Could you, please, give me few suggestions about where to send his CV?I am looking for something different from Monster.nl, etc.

Do you know if there are industries or realities looking for an IT security manager? It seems the more one is skilled the more it is difficult to find a right place to fit in.

I hope someone can help us as the situation is starting to be very difficult to deal with.

Sorry if I bother you somehow.

Have a wonderful (working!) day!

Ciao

Open application Nov 22, 2005

Have him send an open application to the top IT companies in the Netherlands:
PinkRoccade (Getronics)
CMG
And the banks

Most of these companies will have English as their working language and usually cannot find qualified staff. He might have to consider taking a contract job at first.

uitzendbureau Feb 20, 2006

He could also try "Unique uitzendburo" they're specialized in foreign people looking for a job in the Netherlands.
I know there's one in Utrecht where I got really nicely helped, tel. is 030 232 4300. But there's also one in Den Haag, in Amsterdam...
You need to ask for the people specialized in foreign recruitment, or something like that.

Good luck,

They said the main problem is that i dont speack dutch, well, that is compreensive for my point of view. What is no compreensive, is the fact, that some of this agencies dont give us 1 chance to prove yourselves to the vacancy.

But, here i think that i can find some help, and i can find also some others quite usefull information.

Thks

Hi Davi,

Would you care telling a bit about yourself?
Are you actually a translator or interpreter? Your profile page doesn't mention anything...

Just a reminder: this is a Dutch forum for translators and interpreters, not really a forum where everyone can obtain information about e.g. work.

Good luck,
