what does creation of two new ProZ.com branches mean. Is it possible that I am somehow linked to the Kharkiv based branch?

The offices help serve ProZ.com members in different time zones and languages Sep 16, 2017

Hello Maija,

Are you referring to the different ProZ.com offices? Aside from Syracuse, there is the La Plata office (since 2005 or 2006), and the Kharkiv office (since 2008). The different offices exist in order to be able to serve ProZ.com members in different time zones and languages, but you wouldn't be "linked" to any one office in any way. Please let me know if you are referring to something else!

It seems that I have not noticed the existence of three "offices" before. After some ridiculous recent experience with an overbossy ProZ representative, I decided to investigate the causes of such a never-seen -before behaviour and by chance noticed the three bottom-posted offices. I don't want to express a "politically incorrect" opinion but this led me to the conclusion that maybe such behaviour is due to some "post-soviet" way of thinking. You're more than welcome to contact me directly with any details and I'd be happy to look into it. I see there was an issue with a forum post on the 11th, where moderation actions were taken by a ProZ.com staff member who happens to work at the La Plata office. I am not sure if that is what you are referring to, but my initial reaction to your statement is that neither of those conclusions are correct, and if they are, then obviously it would need to be addressed. Thanks.
