Personal trainer May 18, 2017

I have a personal trainer who comes 3 times a week. I have not been able to exercise because of the heavy rains. I hope he can figure out how to solve this "rainy" issue, to go back to my training.

I go 4-5 days of the week to the gym, run between 15-21 km every Saturday and use the bike around 100-120 km a month. I walk at least 4 km daily.

I love Endomondo because it helps me to analyse my exercise sessions.

I may die earlier bacause of this, but I hate exercising as an isolated activity.

Several evidences show that there is much more marketing in the fitness thing than medical reasons. Of course physical activity is highly recommended, buy exercises in a gym or similar, personal trainers, etc. are a lot of opportunistic marketing. There are many alternatives just as healthy that cost a lot less.

Several evidences show that there is much more marketing in the fitness thing than medical reasons. Of course physical activity is highly recommended, buy exercises in a gym or similar, personal trainers, etc. are a lot of opportunistic marketing. There are many alternatives just as healthy that cost a lot less.

And despite the evidences that people who do have regular physical activities live longer and healthier, there is no evidence whatsoever that people who do that in gyms or with personal trainers live longer or are any healthier than those whose physical activities are not-so-disciplined-and-costly.

Anyway, I know that I'm totally wrong in my sedentary life, but I still haven't found a solution that wouldn't make me very unhappy. Still thinking about it. Any suggestions are welcome.

Well, the world's overpopulated anyway... and all that running gives off CO2

I feel the same, and too much exercise sets off my migraine, so it can't be that healthy! The walking club is an important element in my social life, and an excuse to see the countryside where the others live. We are a very scattered group, but real friends. We swap recipes and surplus fruit and vegetables from our gardens, and occasionally go on organised walks to support a good cause. Warmly recommended!

When I don't have any projects, I exercise 3-4 times a week. When I have a project, I am usually too stressed to exercise, and my willpower is not that good. So I'm usually unable to exercise for the duration of the project and I also eat fast food or junk food.

Does showjumping count? May 19, 2017

Does showjumping count? I don't like going to the gym, it is full of sweaty people. But I ride horses twice a week. It is very good for my blood circulation and posture.

At least I call it exercise. I walk to the shops to do my grocery shopping, I also like to walk into town (briskly, mind you) to have a look around the book shop etc. Anyway, I try to walk anything between 3 to 12 km a day, it usually works out at around 5 to 7. My daughter has an aerobic step and I stated using that just recently plus do some ballet arm exercises.
And now that the open-air swimming pool is open again, I try to go swimming 3 to 4 times a week.

I wouldn't set foot in a gym (I don't like exercising indoors that much plus it's full of show-offs), but I just like to move around a lot. I had sitting for a longer stretch of time and I make a point of getting up frequently. But I just love being outside and I do envy the postie sometimes ...

I go swimming on weekdays. I swim since I was 5 years old, but I have been doing this on a regular basis for six months now. I just love swimming at night!
