I thought JavaScript dependence had been removed since Studio 2014, so what is happening?

Did you also update MultiTerm? Mar 20, 2016

Alaa

Please make sure that you have also updated MultiTerm 2015 to SR2. The two programs need to be on the same level, otherwise you may face compatibility problems.

Concerning your comment about Java: it is correct that SDL has removed "Java" dependency in Studio, but the error message concerns "Javascript", which is a script language, largely used in browsers and which is not to be confused with the "Java" programming language (I agree that this is confusing for non-

Both 2015 SR2 Mar 20, 2016

Yes, both Studio and Multiterm are 2015 SR2. I also went to the extent of uninstalling all previous versions that were still on my system (2014 and 2011) and reinstalled the 2015 SR2 versions again, with no avail.

Someone else reported same problem Mar 20, 2016

It seems that the same problem has been reported before, although in this case, the user also reported it was resolved in SR2. In my case, I only saw the problem after installing SR2.

With both versions SR2. Also applies with Studio 2014.

The same problem May 16, 2016

I feel a bit helpless here. Tried installing and reinstalling Studio 2015 (all versions up to SR2 along with Multiterm!) and actually I can add and edit terms, but I can't add any synonyms or notes.

This is because somehow the little triangle button that you click to add a synonym or a note is missing!

Also when I try to edit an existing note, I get exactly the same message as the topic starter, that is:

Thanks pro-lingua. This describes the problem more accurately. I also can edit existing terms and add new ones, but cannot add synonyms, notes or descriptive fields, which all come under the general function of "edit term".

Yes, it's strange May 17, 2016

It started quite suddenly for me. The only thing I can associate this problem with is my Windows 7 getting new updates 2 days ago...

Oh horror!

A quick update: I have installed a demo version of Trados Studio 2014 SP2 to see if the problem exists there, and it... DOES... Seems like there is some corrupted common file on my computer that prevents Studios from working correctly!

Oh, good that you've mentioned it. I was about to upgrade to W10 but it looks like only a clean install will help.

same problem here Aug 20, 2016

If I click on the little pencil, to try to edit an entry in the Termbase viewer, all I get is this error message:

traverse.js

I can't see any little triangles or any way to add notes, synonyms or anything else. Basically nothing works.

Michael

OK, for anyone reading this, who is getting the "traverse.js" problem when trying to edit termbase entries in the Termbase Viewer, I solved it! This is what I just wrote Support:

Subject: I figured out the previous "traverse.js" error!!
Description: I solved the issue from Case 00193632 (now closed), with subject: "traverse.js" error, when trying to edit TB inside Studio 2015.
I am able to reproduce the problem by doing the following:

Open Web Lookup > Settings > Advanced
Change browser version to 11

Upon a restart, I am no longer able to edit any entries in the Termbase Viewer, and get the old "traverse.js" error (see screenshot).

If I change the browser version back to 7, the problem goes away!

So, there was no need to reinstall Windows The problem had nothing to do with my system (which is what Support told me after lots of thinking, one or two Citrix sessions, etc.).

Regards,

Michael

This is a very good news! Pity I had already re-installed the system 4 months ago...

Uninstalled Web Lookup Mar 30, 2017

And issue prevails. Same with Studio 2017.

I was not able to find the "Advanced" bit in the Web Lookup > Settings.

See this post https://community.sdl.com/solutions/language/translationproductivity/f/90/t/10939
