I have a website, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to insert "professional" between "a" and "website" yet. There's a lot I want to add to spiffy it up first, but I don't have the time/expertise. Might have to hire someone to do all the heavy lifting someday.

EDIT: Everyone's posting their URL! I feel left out! Here's mine: www.japan-translate.com

I cancelled it recently, it was no use. There is more information about me on ProZ and a similar national website.

Depends what you mean by professional. I did my own (https://instantenglish.dk using Serif WebPlus, which I found very easy to use and enabled me to put a few gizmos on it. So it looks OK, I think.
But I'm not sure what use it is in terms of getting me business. Most of that seems to come by networking/word of mouth nowadays. I guess it gives me an extra profile and presence. And then it doesn't cost much

Yes, another work-in-progress Aug 4, 2015

I recently got one, but, like some of my colleagues here said before, I am not sure whether any additional business has been coming in through my website:

For the past 3-4 years it has been by far my #1 best source of new clients.

Of course, it evolved gradually from a bunch of disconnected web pages into what it is today. I started out with the most encompassing answers I could write to frequent questions prospects/clients asked me, and which I previously had to answer via e-mail. Now I just give them the link to the corresponding page, and offer to add any other info they need and can't find there.

It should be mentioned that I still know NOTHING about HTML, PHP, Javascript, whatever. I only work on content, using WebSiteX5 to do it and, quite honestly, I don't think I use as much as 10% of the resources it offers.

I'd also like to add that I have spent nothing on SEO. It takes a long time, but having USEFUL content will drive a web site up on search engine rankings.

I am not sure how professional it is since I made it
It is not that I get great number of offers through it, bit it is very convenient to direct potential clients to the site in order to give them more information about my education and work in general.

My website (www.rebeccahendry.co.uk) is very important for my business. Clients find me online, or are referred to my site from elsewhere. It was well worth investing time and money in getting it done properly.

Although I do have pages in three sites, but I cannot consider these professional sites.

But I want to, and I will soon... hopefully.

www.tagtranslations.com for the business and www.opl10nt9n.com for my blog. I've outgrown the blog and so I'm rebuilding it from the ground up with a program called Muse. I'm pretty excited... I'm putting together a video background for it right now (as compared to a color or static image).
