Hello everybody,
I'm noticing that my software always block while I'm working on it. I write a sentence for example, then I pass on to the next segment, and it blocks. I have to wait for about 10 seconds, and then it works again.
Do you know what is happening? It's very frustrating working in this way!

Hi Irene,
DVX2 works fast even with very old computers, I use a 7 or 8-year old notebook. But other factors may result in this delay:
- attached TM/TB size - do you use DGT translation memories?
- long segments, e.g. patent translations with 100-500 words in a segment
- a computer problem, fan faulty?

There aren't long segments, nor any computer problem.
The only think could be a too big TM... I didn't think about that! I'm going to check it, thanks!

Hi Irene,
what about applying the "repair" function in a new session for your TMs you use together with erasing duplicates (in a new session too, but be careful)?

Sometimes, it helps to compact/repair the TM or even the project (back it up before you do so, just in case). Switching off Autosearch for a while also adds speed when you have to get on with your project and do not want to spend time on repairing TMs.

I created a new TM and now everything works fine, so I suppose that was the problem!!
Now, I have a part of the previous TM that I'd like to insert in the new TM, is it possible? And how do I do it?

Do you want to export segments from a particular project / client / subject / date? You can do that with SQL filters.

Then you can use the following SQL Filter, replace 001 with your client code
ID IN (SELECT ID FROM Translations WHERE Client = '001')
Go to File > Export > External Data > (select TMX or Deja Vu X2 Translation Memory) > ...
in Filtering Conditions paste the SQL Filter and export

Open the projects of that particular client, change the database in Project > Properties > Translation Memories and after that, use Project > Send Project to Translation Memory (ALT+F12).
