I've just installed Studio 2009 SP3 along with Multiterm 2009 SP4. (I have Vista 32-bit.)

The installation appeared to complete successfully and most components are working fine.

However, Multiterm Desktop crashes when I start it up (within a split second) and the message ''SDL MultiTerm has stopped working" is displayed.

I'm really concerned as the terminology feature is essential for me and I have a 15,000-entry glossary to import. Trados isn't going to

I would be very grateful for your help. I would happily use an earlier version of Multiterm if that would work, but can't find a download link.

Thanks

Hello, I know your query is a bit old but did you ever manage to find a solution to your problem as I have exactly the same issue and the same configuration as you have.

Try reinstalling Jun 29, 2011

Hi.

Yes, in the end I got rid of the problem, but unfortunately I had to uninstall all Multiterm components, then I went into my account on the Trados website and re-downloaded and re-installed the Multiterm software.

I don't know why it worked, but it did the trick. Maybe the Multiterm software had been updated in the meantime.

Hope this works for you, or you find an easier solution!

MultiTerm SP4 error on start up "MT has stopped working" Jul 1, 2011

Hi, I have the same problem with MultiTerm after re-installing it. I've posted a new question about this but had 0 replies so I found this one.

Try to locate your multiterm.exe file on your computer. In my case I found it in my Canon Web-Ex program folder. After re-installing MultiTerm several times it always does the same thing. Some files go in the Canon program folder and all the rest goes into MultiTerm8 program folder, where it should be.

I have moved all the files

I have moved all the files from Canon into MultiTerm8 and recreated the start-up links and it's working fine now.

I haven't re-downloaded the installer from SDL website again. Maybe I should try and do that.

Let me know if you have any tips - thanks!

FYI, it happened to my SDL Multiterm 2011 a while ago. I tried to locate the application and it did go to WebPrint (or the same applications). When facing the same problem (while you are using SDL Multiterm 2011), Lucia Moon's solution is worth trying. It works on my computer.

Thank you Lucia!!

Best regards,
Ahnan
