Stop working on it. If your client matches all of the pattern of the guy who scammed Stephanie, just stop.

Stéphanie Denton - 2.5 months have gone by since you first posted this case
Did your "client" ever get back to you?
Did you do the translation and send it off to the "client"
Did you hear any more from your bank about the check being "good"

You promised to keep us updated.
